A little new york engagement session

This shoot was much more fun than I had expected. I tend to get nervous about shooting people, very much preferring non-moving objects like wooden tables, flowers, food and coffee (in case that wasn't clear... :D). But with some very cooperative and chill friends + amazing light and weather, good things can happen.

We started in Columbus Circle...

Then walked into Central Park...

Jon brought the business newspaper as prop as they both are headed to Wharton biz school after the wedding. Talk about a superstar couple!

We ended the day near the illustrious fountain in the park.

Whew, that was an eyeful. Hope you all enjoyed a little something different from me! And who knows? Maybe I could get into this stuff...

  1. this is awesome -- tricky lighting in some of them and such a narrow DOF, but you handled it easily. they'll love it!

  2. You did such a wonderful job, Alice. So impressed that you did it all on film, too. I get nervous taking just a few shots on film during a session! Could never do it all one film.

  3. Um, wow - not only did I typo in that last comment but I think I just about managed to use the word 'film' in every sentence. Yikes! Time for bed, haha...

  4. yeah, you should do more of these sessions. as much as i like photographying inanimate objects, nothing beats capturing people's genuine emotions.

that gal is definitely stylish. what a cool looking skirt and she's got great pair of legs to go with that skirt =)

  12. I can't believe you did this all on film- they are fantastic! I love the one of the two of them on the bridge (I think?) with the greenery behind them. Also, she is clearly RADIATING with happiness. Oh, so beautiful. A really wonderful job, Alice.
