Pre-ceremony | t & m

Some detail shots from T & M's lovely wedding in Somerville, NJ a few weekends ago.

I realized that the only way to really shoot in those crazy backlit hotel rooms is to overexpose at least two stops. This was my first full wedding alone. (Poor J assisted and "second shot" on my good old Rebel. Hehe. Some day I better be able to afford a real second shooter. Not that J did a bad job or anything! It would just be cool to be able to pay someone who wants to shoot weddings. :)) It was overall a great experience and I hope there will be many more to come.

  1. Stunning! I never realise you have lighting issues until you point it out... which shows how effortlessly you deal with it.

  3. These are beautiful, Alice! I can't wait to see the rest of the wedding.

Overexposing/blowing out skies or windows is, at times, a necessary evil I've definitely come to grips with. Sometimes, it's just all about the moment - forget the technical stuff!

  4. These are great, Alice! I second what Kim said. For me, they don't really distract and wouldn't have even thought of anything until you mentioned it. I'm always thinking that way, though, and thinking, "Do I need someone constantly following me with an AB1600 to balance the window light?" LOL
