More crazy pants

I don't know what's drawing me to crazy printed pants recently, but I couldn't help picking up a second pair. I definitely feel very "business-on-the-top-party-on-the-bottom" with this outfit. I've also been wearing this jacket non-stop this season — it ties together any outfit and the slinky material slouches perfectly.

I'm heading to Sweden this week and try as I may to get in a blog post, I know how bad I am at blogging while traveling, so please do follow along on Instagram!

Blanca Monrós Gómez

When Blanca contacted me to potentially shoot some of her jewelry in little vignettes around her studio, I nearly spit out my coffee. I had long admired and loved her work! In fact, I gifted myself the dainty stacking ring for my birthday last year (and I never take that thing off!). Needless to say, I was excited to work with her. The icing on the cake was having Amy Merrick doing flowers for the shoot. Here's a peek at what we shot.

No-fuss outfit

I've always admired the well-curated collages other bloggers put together, whether it's of an outfit or home goods, or whatever. I thought I'd try something similar, except I'd take a photo of items that I actually own on a white seamless. The problem is that I don't have a large enough white background, so this required some Photoshopping (just don't look too closely ;)). And don't mind how worn these jeans look... they are my go-to these days. I'm not exactly innovative when it comes to style, so don't expect anything revolutionary here — just an outfit I've been reaching for often this month!

Brunch at Hearth

I've always been a fan of Hearth and frequented it when I lived in the East Village. They recently started offering brunch, so J and I checked it out a few weeks ago. I've been so bad about carrying my SLR with me when I'm not working, and often regret it when I happen across a photogenic brunch like this! Nonetheless, I wanted to share some iPhone snaps because I think you guys enjoy my brunch food porn ;).

I have serious cravings for their apple cider donuts, so I can never go to Hearth without getting an order of them. And both of our main dish choices were solid — I had the braised market rapini with poached eggs and J had the roasted chicken salad sandwich.

J + M

I know I haven't posted couples portraits on here in a while, but these got me too excited not to share. I mean, you know it's going to be a good session when the couple shows up with two bottles of wine ;). Our AirBnB loft in downtown Los Angeles was too perfect not to use for a few portraits. See a little behind the scenes here.

Crazy pants

Against my better judgment, I picked up this pair of what I call crazy pants at Rag & Bone the other day. If you've seen my other posts, you know I almost only wear dark skinny jeans/pants. I have been, however, on the hunt for that kind of silk pajama-like pant so these fit the bill quite nicely. When I slipped them on, I knew they'd be coming home with me. So damn comfortable. And I don't have to hem them (yeah, so what if they're supposed to capri-length on someone with a normal inseam)!

Still unsure of what to wear on top and footwear, but here's a dressier version with heels. So hopefully they aren't actually mistaken for pajamas...

Neutra VDL

I was in Los Angeles for a quick weekend last week and stopped by the Neutra VDL House with Rick and Peggy. While I loved some of the architecture I saw in LA (and ok yes, the weather), I missed the walkability of NYC horribly. It felt like even if something were just a few "blocks" away, people would pile into cars to get there. In any case, it was wonderful to catch up with these two! A few snaps from the house below.

Oh hey, an extremely rare shot of J and I together!

New Work / Refinery29

I can't really get over how amazing Athena Calderone's DUMBO apartment is. You can imagine how giddy I was in her space, and getting to shoot Athena in a few stunning outfits was the icing on the cake. See the full slideshow and read about Athena's style here.
